Schedule overview/booking at this link). Approximately 6–11 persons per group/cave guide. On request, the tour can also be booked as an exclusive tour for a flat rate of CHF 1,170.00 if there are fewer than 6 participants.
Meeting point: Hölloch Centre, Stalden 14 in 6436 Muotathal.Requirements:This tour is designed to be challenging and requires a good level of fitness; it is comparable to a mountain tour with rough terrain, easy climbing passages and longer crawling sections. Also suitable for athletic children aged 10 and above.
Bring along:Warm woollen socks; long thermal underwear (shirt and trousers) and/or a thin turtleneck pullover and a pair of leggings/jogging trousers*. On top: old, warm, sturdy and durable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring extra clothes for the journey home, as the caving clothes can get very dirty. (Alternative: hire caving overalls for CHF 25.00 per person).
Sturdy rucksack with lunch and drink in a plastic or metal bottle (water can be refilled in Hölloch) and a fleece jacket to protect against the cold during breaks. Additionally: energy-boosting snacks (fruit or cereal/chocolate bars).
* Please note – the temperature in Hölloch is a constant 6°C, with humidity at almost 100%. As long as you keep moving, you will normally stay warm enough. However, we generally recommend that participants who are sensitive to the cold wear thermal underwear AND a thin turtleneck jumper under their cave overalls/own clothes (for those who are not particularly sensitive to the cold, either one is sufficient).
Hölloch barbecue area: Before or after your cave tour, you can also use the barbecue area at the Hölloch Wärterhaus, which is idyllically located in a small wood next to the mountain stream. Use of the barbecue area is free of charge for our guests. Please let us know if you would like to use this area so that we can reserve it for you.
